Today is the day we honor the people who have fought for our rights and our freedoms. But because of recent events, some people feel trapped and defeated. Even if things turned our differently, some people would still feel the same. Times are hard right now. Despite this we have to understand that what happened, happened.<\/p>\n<p>This is what we have, and because of the unpredictability of this year\u2019s election, we truly don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to come of it. We could be disappointed, or pleasantly surprised. Either way, we have to be open-minded. We are allowed to disagree with each other, but understanding is one of the many roots of progress. Be the bigger person. Be stronger than the negativity imposed around us and don\u2019t contribute to the hate. Don\u2019t stand down from what you believe, but don\u2019t let animosity rise up. This is our country and if we antagonize each other, we are antagonizing ourselves. Love will always win if we allow it to.<\/p>\n<p>It is so important that we stand up. We have to stand up for ourselves, and for our fellow Americans who feel like their voices have been silenced. We all need to be heard. Some see this as a step forward; some see this as a step back. Whatever you see, continue working as hard as you can for change and progress. This country needs it, no matter the results of this election. We have to make change from the ground up \u2013 schools, mayors, and governors. Small votes can make a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>Whether we agree or not, the electoral college represents the state and they are there for a reason. If we mold our state in the little ways, it will create change each year, therefore molding the electoral college to the views we feel are our own.<\/p>\n<p>Get involved with your local government. Go to county commission meetings Go to city hall meetings. Volunteer. Vote. VOTE. Tell your friends to vote. Tell your dogs to vote. Stay informed. Stay active. Stay peaceful.
